We Believe

We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect, all-knowing, and eternally existing in three persons – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ is God’s one and only son. He died on the cross for our sins, was raised by the power of the Holy Spirit on the third day and will return as promised to claim each of us who has accepted him as our Lord and Saviour. (John 3:16-18)

We believe our salvation comes only through Jesus Christ and cannot be earned. It is a gift from God. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift from God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe faith in Jesus requires acknowledgement of sin, repentance, confession of that faith before witnesses, and obedience to His Word. Baptism by immersion in water demonstrates our faith and obedience while it depicts our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

(Matthew 28:18-20 – Acts 2:38 – Romans 10:9-11)

We believe that when we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord of our life, the Holy Spirit will dwell in us, as promised. (John 14:15-18 / 1 Cor. 12:7)

We believe the church, as the body of Christ on earth, is the extension of Jesus Christ’s character, attitude, behaviour, and mission in our world today. We aim to be his witness and to reflect his character, love, grace and hope in a broken world.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, our supreme authority and guide.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We celebrate communion together each week to remember Jesus’ atoning sacrifice on the cross and to “proclaim his death until he comes again.”  (1 Cor. 11:23-26 – Luke 22 19:20)
